Forecasters eyeing Gulf of Mexico disturbance that could form into tropical system

(Gray News) – The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a system in the northwestern Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico that could develop into a tropical depression by the end of the week.

Forecasters say environmental conditions could support the formation of what is currently a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

The NHC encourages those with interests along the U.S. Gulf Coast to continue monitoring this system, which has a 40% chance of formation over the next seven days…
