CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) – Dominic Capella, executive director of the Rediscover Recovery Community Center in Clinton is now pausing his plans to create housing for people who are suffering from addiction. He said he made this decision Monday when he spoke to the Clinton County Board of Supervisors.

“The Iowa Finance Authority had a request for proposal. They have a $3 million grant budget to start recovery housing in Iowa, but it’s a reimbursement grant, so all the work to be done makes it almost impossible for a very grassroots, small nonprofit to actually go buy a property and then ask the state to reimburse it if we get the grant,” said Capella. “So it makes it logistically impossible for somebody as small as me to be able to do that”
