Palm Desert girls’ golf survives heat, challenge from La Quinta to remain unbeaten in DEL

For the third consecutive Desert Empire League match, the Palm Desert Aztecs girls’ golf team proved the formula they are using in 2024 is working.

“Everything is working. The confidence that we carry onto the course is just so strong,” Palm Desert head coach Kaitlyn Ellis said after her team’s 196-224 victory over La Quinta High School in sweltering conditions Tuesday at Big Rock Golf Club at Indian Springs in Indio. “I think that plays a big part of it. How they walk down the fairway, how they help each other. It is just such a strong team dynamic.”

The win keeps Palm Desert undefeated in the DEL as the team seeks a fifth consecutive undefeated league season and 26th undefeated season in the last 27 years…
