Luther Thomas Garner, 89, of Newnan passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Monarch House.
Tom was born in Meriwether County on May 11, 1935 to the late Luther (Bo) Garner and the late Ethel Owen Garner. He graduated in 1954 from Western High School. Shortly after graduation, he served 2 years with the Army National Guard and began his 35 year career with Georgia Power. Tom retired as their Labor Relations Coordinator in 1990 from the Atlanta office. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church.
Tom married the love of his life, Barbara “Nan” Williams on August 30, 1957. Tom and Nan lived in several different Georgia cities with his employment at Georgia Power, including Brunswick, Albany, Milledgeville, and Rome, before returning home to Newnan in 1970…
