DETROIT – A 5-year-old girl and a man were shot Tuesday evening on Detroit’s west side.

Officials said they had a scout car in the area on an additional run when a ‘ShotSpotter’ alert said there were 13 shots fired in the area.
Police said they initially didn’t find anyone hurt, but they did find some shell castings.
5-year-old and man shot
While investigating the scene, police learned a 5-year-old girl was shot in the leg while she was in a moving vehicle. She was transported to Henry Ford Hospital in Fairlane, and police said she is stable.
“The investigation at the hospital deemed that the little girl was shot over in this location,” said Detroit Police Department Deputy Chief Jacqueline Pritchett. “The girl was in a vehicle that was in motion when the shots were fired, and she was struck, and her family are the ones that conveyed her to the hospital.”…
