FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – Police say man suffering from a mental health emergency in Flint on Tuesday evening died while officers were trying to subdue him.
The Flint Police and Fire departments responded to the Lapeer Gardens apartment complex at 2324 Lapeer Road around 5:55 p.m. to investigate a possibly hazardous situation.
They encountered the man who had doused himself in a flammable substance inside an apartment. Police attempted to communicate with the man, who they did not identify, and bring him outside to emergency medical responders…
