Balloon Fiesta 2024: What you need to know

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The 52nd Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is just around the bend, and visitors might have some questions about the event.

This article will detail all things Balloon Fiesta for those planning on attending.

When is Balloon Fiesta?

  • 2024’s Balloon Fiesta will take place from Oct. 5 to 13 at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque.
  • There are morning and afternoon sessions on Oct. 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. Morning sessions only on Oct. 7, 8, 9, and 13.
  • Mornings are from 4:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Evenings are from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Ticket Information

  • General admission is $15.
  • Children 12 and under are free.
  • On Oct. 7, all New Mexico residents can get in for free. An ID or utility bill is required to prove residency.

Getting to Balloon Fiesta Park

  • Rideshare drop-off/pick-up is located off Balloon Fiesta Drive NE (coordinates: 35.191, -106.595).
  • Park & Ride is available (the price includes your ticket to the event). Service locations can be seen below:
    • Cottonwood Mall (10000 Coors Bypass NW) Park in the northeast parking lot near Seven Bar Loop and Coors Bypass NW.
    • Coronado Center (6600 Menaul Blvd NE) Park at the southwest corner near San Pedro Dr. and Uptown Blvd.
    • Hoffmantown Church (8888 Harper Road NE) Park in the northeast parking lot only.
    • Intel (WEEKENDS ONLY) ( 1600 Rio Rancho Dr. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124) Park in the southeast lot only.
  • You can ride your bike to the park.

Arriving at the park

  • There are multiple ways to enter the park. They can be located on the map by clicking here .

What is and is not allowed?

  • No drones.
  • No weapons.
  • No animals, except service animals.
  • No hard-sided coolers.
  • No glass bottles or alcohol.
  • No religious/political paraphernalia.
  • No full-face masks or costume face masks.
  • Backpacks are allowed – one per person.
  • Blankets are allowed but need to be carried through screening.
  • Folding chairs are allowed.
  • Food is allowed, but the resale of food is not.
