Woman Arrested at Phoenix Airport for Allegedly Smuggling 50,000 Fentanyl Pills

Phoenix authorities have reported the arrest of a woman at Sky Harbor International Airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle a significant quantity of fentanyl. Martisha Missouri Montgomery, 24, was found to be carrying luggage containing an estimated 50,000 fentanyl pills when she was stopped for a routine security check.

According to a post by the Phoenix Police Department on their X page, the arrest occurred on Sept. 16, after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials flagged the suspicious luggage. “During further TSA inspection, six sealed bricks were located within the suitcase liner,” detailed the court documents obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. The packages were said to be double sealed in food saver plastic vacuum bags, and wrapped in tape.

The suspect was planning a trip from Phoenix to Atlanta, but was intercepted by law enforcement before she could board the flight. After her arrest, Montgomery reportedly provided personal information during the post-Miranda interview, but ceased answering when questioned on the specifics of her travel…
