ASU Homecoming weekend brings fun, music, dance and more

The Hornets have been all riled up for days on the path to Alabama State University’s homecoming Saturday, Oct. 5, but there’s much more fun ahead besides college football.

Thursday, Oct. 3:

  • The LEAD (Leadership, Education and Development) speaker series with featured speaker Roland Martin. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Martin — broadcast journalist, CNN contributor, author — will be the featured speaker at the John Garrick Hardy Student Center Theater. This event is free.
  • The National Pan Hellenic Council Step Show from 6:30-9 p.m. at Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Doors open at 6 p.m. General admission is $25 for the public, and $15 for students with ID at the ticket office.

Friday, Oct. 4:

  • Alumni Book Fair, showcasing ASU authors — alumni, students, staff, and supporters. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the John Garrick Hardy Student Center and Bookstore, the fair will offer free admission for author talks, Stinger’s Book Club, and…
