LOGAN, W.Va.— Students at Southern WV Community and Technical College will now be able to receive a degree through Marshall University, due to a signed agreement between the two colleges.
The agreement, was signed Wednesday, by Southern’s President Dr. Pamela L. Alderman and Marshall’s President Brad D. Smith at Southern’s Logan campus.
This agreement will allow a smooth transition for Southern students to receive a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Marshall. And the Southern students AAS degree fulfills all of the general education requirements for the BAS. With those requirements out of the way the students will be able to transfer up to 72 credit hours to Marshall. The agreement will also allow the students to obtain this degree either in-person, online or hybrid. The students will be learning cultivating authentic skill sets across multiple employment sectors through the BAS degree, so they’ll be no need to pick just one major.
Alderman said “This affiliation is more than just a partnership, it’s a promise to our students. We are working together to provide them with every opportunity to succeed. Whether they are seeking to enter the workforce immediately or to continue their education at Marshall, we are ensuring that they have the support, resources, and opportunities to achieve their dreams.”…
