Here’s why McDonald Rivet, Junge and 4 other candidates think they should replace Kildee in Congress

Dan Kildee’s departure from the U.S. House of Representatives means that some voters in the 8th Congressional District won’t see his familiar last name on their general election ballots for the first time since 1962.

The district, which was redrawn following the 2020 census, has become more Republican than it was when former Rep. Dale Kildee represented the area before Dan Kildee replaced his uncle in Congress in 2012, now including parts of Midland County, including the city of Midland.

In all, the district stretches from Fenton on the south to the Pinconning area on the north and includes all of the cities of Flint, Saginaw and Bay City…
