Falcons rookie to start for the first time in 2024 on TNF against Bucs

The Falcons’ rookie class has been the least productive in the NFL, with the only member of the 2024 draft class taking snaps being JD Bertrand.

However, the 5th-round pick has only appeared in a handful of defensive snaps; most of his action has come on special teams. Granted, Michael Penix Jr. was never going to play, and Bralen Trice suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason, but there’s no excuse for the rest of them. The two most disappointing are Brandon Dorlus and Ruke Orhorhoro, the latter being the club’s 2nd-round pick. They’re clearly projects in the Falcons’ eyes.

Worst of all, we are just throwing 6th-rounders away too. Zion Logue was never activated off the practice squad, and the Bills snatched him up before ever taking a snap for the Falcons. Thankfully, there’s a light at the end of the Thursday Night Football tunnel…
