Two Boaz elementary schools, Snead State briefly secured Wednesday morning

BOAZ, Ala. — Two Boaz elementary schools were briefly placed on Secure Perimeter Wednesday morning at the recommendation of Boaz police, due to police activity near the schools. Officials said there was no immediate threat to Boaz or Corley Elementary, and the measure was been taken “out of an abundance of caution”.

According to the school’s president, Joe Whitmore, Snead State was placed on lockdown as Boaz police investigated an armed robbery.

Both of the security measures were lifted after about an hour and the schools resumed their normal activities…
