On October 2nd, 2024 at approximately 8:05 pm, Joseph Lee Powell was arrested without incident in Richmond by the US Marshal Serice with assistance from Richmond Police Department. Powell was wanted for Murder (x2), Use of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (x2) and Possession of a Firearm by a Violent Convicted Felon. He was also wanted out of Brunswick County for a probation violation.
Brunswick County investigators responded to Richmond to collect evidence and conduct an interview. A full confession was obtained and no further threats to the community exist as this was an isolated incident.
He was transported to the local jail and is being held on No Bond…
