PETAL, Miss. (WDAM) – One man is behind bars after assaulting two caseworkers and having a standoff with police in Petal Tuesday.

According to Petal Police Chief Matthew Hiatt, 25-year-old Anthony Myers is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and two counts of simple assault on a healthcare worker.

Hiatt said on Tuesday, officers got a call to a home that Myers, who Hiatt says is mentally challenged, had assaulted two caseworkers, including stabbing one with a butter knife. The lady’s injuries were non-life-threatening…
