COVINGTON — The Joint Development Authority of Jasper, Morgan, Newton and Walton Counties voted in September to disburse another $2 million to the counties, bringing its total payments to the counties since 2004 to more than $42 million. The total includes taxes collected, payments in lieu of taxes, debt payments, and revenue from land sales.
The disbursement approved in September comes from payments in lieu of taxes from development of a Meta (formerly Facebook) data center, which is located in Stanton Springs South.
