Utah State at Boise State Preview

Entering October Utah State is sitting at 1-3 with the team’s only win coming against Robert Morris. The Aggies are on a three-game losing streak and while at times the Aggies have showed progress there are several concerning signs that exploit this team.

Starting quarterback Spencer Petras missed significant playing time due to injury and stepping in his place, Bryson Barnes threw for 524 yards and four touchdowns compared to four interceptions. The leading rusher for Utah State, Rahsul Faison, has 395 yards rushing and a touchdown on the year with the next closest running back Herschel Turner, who has 114 yards and a touchdown on the year. The depth at running back is a concern for the Aggies, especially considering that the Aggies have not been able to get much of a run game going. Jalen Royasls has also been overall very underwhelming with 280 yards and just two touchdowns on the season. In total the Aggies have just seven touchdowns through the air this year and four touchdowns on the ground. The Aggies have managed to get three turnovers this year and have averaged 24.5 points a game this season. Utah State ranks 122nd in total defense so far this season, giving up 6.18 yards per play and 454.2 yards per game. This will be the 29th time that the Aggies and the Broncos have met.
