Thousands of Texans barked at FCC over early morning Blue Alert

Not even 24 hours after an early morning Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Blue Alert awakened folks across the Lone Star State , thousands of residents have lodged their complaints about the surprise wake-up call.

According to a report from CBS News Texas , nearly 4,000 Texans filed grievances with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) over the alert, which sounded just before 5 a.m. Friday. The Blue Alert notified Texans that 33-year-old Seth Altman was wanted for allegedly shooting Memphis, Texas, Police Chief Rex Plant.

Plant was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital, while the 33-year-old Altman, described as about 6’2″ and 220 pounds, is still at large. Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Friday a $10,000 reward for information leading to Altman’s arrest. Memphis is about 510 miles northwest of Houston in the Texas panhandle…
