Fort Campbell deploying more than 500 soldiers to assist in Helene relief

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Fort Campbell is deploying more than 500 soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) to North Carolina to assist in Hurricane Helene response efforts.

“Task Force Falcon” soldiers will assist in multiple relief efforts, including search and rescue, medical aid, route assessment and clearance, traffic control, warehouse management, supply distribution, debris removal, general transportation, and equipment maintenance. The group is also equipped with more than 60 all-terrain vehicles.

The division is also sending an additional 15 utility and cargo helicopters with crews.
