Texas A&M’s Veterinary Emergency Team deployed to North Carolina

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – On Wednesday at the direction of Gov. Greg Abbott , the Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team was deployed to North Carolina by the Texas Division of Emergency Management.

This is all in response to Hurricane Helene which has become the deadliest storm in the history of North Carolina, and has made a name for itself as one of the top 10 deadliest storms in U.S. history. Search and rescue efforts are underway with dogs being a vital player in tracking down those who may be trapped or the bodies of those who have died.

VET is a deployable team that has been in action for 15 years, they help to support working dogs, help resident animals, and help with large animal technical rescues. Because of the vital role search and rescue dogs play, VET was sent out to help take care of them…
