SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Longboat Key Fire Chief Paul Dezzi held a briefing Sunday morning regarding approaching Tropical Storm Milton.
Residents were asked to stop gathering debris from Hurricane Helene on the Key. He asked people to secure their homes as soon as possible and get all vehicles off Longboat Key. He noted that electric cars are prone to start on fire when exposed to seawater. The Fire Department responded to several electrical fires after Hurricane Helene.
Water is expected to be shut off again the Key, and he noted that Fire and Police Departments will not come out on calls when winds exceed 45 mph. High tide at Longboat Key is 3:45 a.m., adding to the storm surge and destruction on the Key…
