Dryer, cooler air on tap for New Orleans metro this week

While Tropical Storm Milton poses a threat to Florida, the system and a cold front pushing into the region will bring breezier, dryer conditions to the New Orleans Metro Area.

The rain that we saw on Friday is gone for the most part. We could see a stray shower on Sunday, but don’t let that stop you from going out to enjoy Gretna Fest, the Fried Chicken Festival, or the St. Tammany Parish Fair. As we go deeper into the week, we’ll see sustained winds and gusts grow thanks to Milton. Milton will pull moisture away from southeast Louisiana. That, combined with the cold front that’s expected to arrive on Monday, will send dew points and humidity falling, making conditions much more comfortable.

Low humidity will persist through the end of the week. High temperatures will stay in the low- to mid-80s all week, with overnight lows dipping into the 60s, with parts of the Northshore possibly seeing lows in the 50s later this week…
