GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wofford women’s soccer team fell on the road 2-0 to UNC Greensboro on Sunday at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Terriers kept the game within one score for most of the afternoon, but the Spartans furthered the deficit with an 87th minute goal.
Wofford fell in a hole early, allowing a Spartan goal in just the second minute of the game. The early score came from a miscue from the Terrier back line. The Terrier defense tightened up for the remainder of the half, not giving up another goal despite seven first half shots from UNCG. Elizabeth Navola tallied two saves in the first half, stopping shots in the 13th and 24th minutes.
Wofford saw a few opportunities to strike in the first half, but the team could not get on the board. Megan Childress took the first shot of the day for the Terriers, along with Ines Obradovac firing off the final four shots of the half, including a great ball that bounced off the top post.
