Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore students died and two others were seriously injured in an early Sunday morning crash in Delaware.

Early morning crash leaves two dead, two seriously injured

Here’s what Delaware State Police said happened, and a statement from UMES on the tragedy.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Seaford that left the two UMES students dead.

On Oct. 6, 2024, at about 1:34 a.m., a 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on Sussex Highway in the left lane, south of Cannon Road. At the same time, a 2005 Honda Pilot was traveling northbound, also in the left southbound lane on Sussex Highway, into the Rogue’s path of travel.
