LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Kentucky Baptist Convention sent crews from around the state to North Carolina over the weekend to help with recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene.

Helene’s death toll rose to 227 on Saturday, making it the second-deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S mainland behind Hurricane Katrina.

The ministry sent around 70 volunteers to help remove trees and other debris from damaged areas. Crews are also bringing shower and laundry units to help residents without access to water…
