HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall redshirt junior quarterback Braylon Braxton was named as the Sun Belt Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Braxton earned the honor after a banner performance in Marshall’s 52-37 Homecoming win over App State, who was chosen in the preseason as the SBC favorite to win the East Division.
In his first career start for the Thundering Herd, Braxton accounted for 269 yards of total offense and five touchdowns while not turning the ball over as Marshall produced its most points against an FBS opponent in its Sun Belt era and the most since defeating FIU, 52-0, in 2015…
