Attorney: Cincinnati firefighter involved in Colerain bar shootout acted in self-defense

A Cincinnati firefighter involved in a gun battle outside a Colerain Township bar in August, an incident that left a bystander with a bullet in her arm, intends to take the case to trial and will argue self-defense, his attorney said.

Mack Ogletree faces multiple counts of felonious assault. According to prosecutors, a woman who was sitting in a car in the bar’s parking lot was struck in the arm by a bullet. And the man Ogletree was exchanging gunfire with, 40-year-old Phillip Shaw, was grazed in the head by a bullet.

Ogletree, 36, has a valid license to carry a concealed weapon and has no criminal record, his attorney, Brandon Fox said at an arraignment Friday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court…
