MARSHALL, Mich. — Marshall Public Schools (MPS) is putting bond proposals back on the ballot for the November election.

The proposals were previously just one proposal that totaled $90 million in May, and that proposal did not pass.
MPS held community feedback sessions to find out what people wanted from the ballot measures.
“The community has said, ‘We want a needs and wants bond,'” MPS Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Jones said. “And so, we would like the option to be able to vote for what we want to do…That’s why the bond is split up into two different proposals. We’re calling it a ‘needs and wants.’”
Proposal 1 is a $53 million investment that includes a new elementary school in Albion, additions of classrooms at Gordon Elementary School, roof reconstruction and a vestibule at Hughes Elementary, and general facility and safety upgrades…
