5 AES Indiana crews to travel south as Hurricane Milton continues its trek toward Florida

INDIANAPOLIS — AES Indiana is sending five crews south as Florida prepares for Hurricane Milton to make landfall.

According to a press release from AES Indiana, five three-person crews and four support personnel — 19 workers total — departed for Tennessee Monday afternoon. The crews will travel to Georgia on Tuesday and remain there until they are called to Florida after Milton makes landfall.

AES Indiana is part of a mutual assistance group made up of other utility companies. When natural disasters strike, members of the mutual assistance group mobilize to help companies based in areas impacted by severe weather.

When the remnants of Hurricane Helene rolled through central Indiana, more than 97,000 of AES Indiana’s customers were left without power. At that time, members of the mutual assistance group — including crews from northern Indiana and Massachusetts — were sent to Indianapolis to help AES restore power to its customers…
