Remarkably dry, sunny pattern to continue

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Stateline played host to the coolest temperatures of the young month of October Monday, though few would venture to call the day’s upper 60s chilly. In fact, the 67° high temperature recorded in Rockford is exactly where temperatures should be on October 7.

Temperatures over the next several days are to anything but seasonable, as another spell of warmth is ticketed for the region as our remarkably dry, sunny pattern continues.

Wall-to-wall sunshine is expected Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with temperatures reaching 73° Tuesday, 77° Wednesday, and 79° Thursday.

Those hoping for rainfall are to be disappointed with the forecast through the remainder of the week, if not longer. In fact, it’s possible we may go without a drop of rain for the next ten days.

Another tidbit worth mentioning, temperatures Friday are to surge into the middle 80s underneath, you guessed it, unlimited sunshine. The high temperature of 86° forecast to occur Friday would fall just two degrees shy of the record high for October 11. The record high of 88° was set all the way back on October 11, 1920!…
