Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key just south of Tampa Bay at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, moved across the state overnight, and exited the east coast near Cape Canaveral at 5 a.m. Thursday.
Milton was still a Category 1 hurricane and its last bands of rain will likely linger over the east coast through the morning. Its path will take it east into the Atlantic, where Milton will weaken into a tropical storm, then dissipate this weekend without further threat to land.
