Anson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Piedmont Panthers, falling 10-1. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Panthers are ranked 198th).
Anson’s defeat dropped their record down to 0-13-1. As for Piedmont, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3-2.
Anson will challenge Parkwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Piedmont, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Greater Cabarrus S at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Piedmont’s favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last six matches…
