American Red Cross sends volunteers to Florida in response to Hurricane Milton

FLORIDA ( KLFY ) — The American Red Cross has sent more than 2,000 volunteers to Florida to help residents recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, including volunteers from Louisiana.

Micah Nicholas, of the American Red Cross, said six Louisiana volunteers were sent to help with preparation efforts but more are expected to be deployed.

“We had volunteers there pre landfall. We’ll be deploying more from right here in Louisiana to after that damage has been assessed. And we understand what the critical needs are,” Nicholas said…
