Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative restored power to the Rocky Bottom community Friday afternoon. This was a lingering outage due to severe system damage, which required a 2.5-mile rebuild in mountainous terrain and affected approximately 178 members. While all Tropical Storm Helene outages have been addressed, work is ongoing to repair pockets of our infrastructure. At the height of peak outages on Friday, September 27, an estimated 65,000 members (~90 percent of our total membership) were without power. Now, all outages associated with Helene’s initial arrival have been restored.
