Cowboys Make Unwanted History vs. Lions

The Dallas Cowboys got embarrassed 47-9 by the Detroit Lions amid historic proportions on Sunday.

CBS Sports’ John Breech broke down how historically awful the Cowboys looked against the Lions at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Cowboys couldn’t hide from the wreckage amid the laundry list of records as the Lions looked dominant from start to finish.

First, the Cowboys suffered its biggest home loss ever under owner Jerry Jones. It marked the worst Cowboys home loss since a 43-3 drubbing by the Minnesota Vikings in 1988, the year before Jones purchased the franchise in 1989 and won three Super Bowls in the 1990s.

“They also trailed 27-6 at halftime, making them just the second team in NFL history to trail by 15 points or more at halftime in four straight home games,” Breech wrote on Monday. “The Cowboys have also now allowed 167 total points in their last four home games, which is the most in a four-game home span since the Oilers gave up 176 from 1972 to 1973.”…
