Two men, Marquez Davis and DeAnthony Brown, both 24, have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting that occurred after Tennessee State University’s homecoming parade. The shooting left one person dead and nine others injured.

Authorities believe the suspects were part of rival gangs who exchanged gunfire indiscriminately. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Vonquae Johnson, was allegedly one of the shooters and was killed during the incident.

Davis and Brown have been charged with criminal homicide. Investigators discovered that Davis had a prior criminal record, including robbery and gun possession charges. He was reportedly carrying a large firearm at the time of his arrest.

The Metro Nashville Police Department expressed outrage at the suspects’ disregard for human life. Police Chief John Drake emphasized the need for severe consequences for those convicted of violent gun crimes.
