Green Bay woman sentenced for thefts from assisted living facility

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — A 22-year-old Green Bay woman has been sentenced to over three months in jail for stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from residents at an assisted living facility where she worked.

Court records show that Jorden Batten, 22, was sentenced by Judge Thomas Walsh to three months in jail, followed by nine years of extended supervision. Batten will also undergo a COMPAS Evaluation and complete any counseling deemed necessary by officials. She received credit for two days already served in jail.

The thefts occurred in June 2023. According to a criminal complaint, a deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the assisted living facility on June 6, after a report of cash and items stolen from residents’ rooms. The next day, a similar complaint was made involving a missing tablet, and another resident later reported a tablet stolen.

One of the tablets was returned to its owner’s room, but a staff member later found a tablet in Batten’s bag. Authorities questioned Batten, who admitted to taking three tablets and approximately $1,000 from residents over a four-week period…
