Packers trade proposal brings projected $79 million pass rusher to Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers are 4-2 fighting for the lead in the NFC North. The Packers’ defense has created turnovers this year, but their pass rush is keeping them from reaching an elite level.

While outlining realistic trades the Packers could make, FanSided’s Rucker Haringey proposed this trade that brings Haason Reddick to Green Bay from the New York Jets:

  • Packers receive: linebacker Haason Reddick
  • Jets receive: fifth-round pick

“The veteran edge-rusher has recently changed agents which sends a clear signal that he wants to get back on the field. There may be too much history for him to make that happen with New York,” wrote Haringey. “A trade makes a lot of sense as a result. It’s hard to envision a scenario where Reddick plays a down of football for the Jets in 2024. A different shade of green might be the perfect solution for all involved.”

The Packers are tied for second worst in the league with just eight sacks. Six of those came against the Tennessee Titans in week 3. Reddick has double-digit sacks in each of his last four seasons…
