All Saints Orthodox Church: 211 Willow Ave., Olyphant, offers a frozen pierogi sale from 9 to 11 a.m. every Friday and 10:30 a.m. to noon every Sunday in the basement of the church.
Christ Episcopal Church: 700 Delaware St., Forest City, is accepting donations of new or gently used winter coats for the annual free coat distribution in October (date to be determined). Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church: 313 First Ave., Jessup, will offer daily public prayers during October. According to Byzantine Catholic tradition, Oct. 1 is the feast day of the Protection of the Mother of God. The church will celebrate a Moleben (prayer service) to the Mother of God on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed publicly Tuesday through Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 3:15 p.m. and Sunday immediately before the Divine Liturgy at 8:30 a.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available before and after the prayer services and Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 to 3 p.m. All are welcome.
