McFarland man returns home after helping Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina

MCFARLAND, Wis. (WMTV) – A North Carolina native, who now lives in McFarland, returned home to Wisconsin after delivering a trailer full of supplies and volunteering with the Asheville community devastated by Hurricane Helene.

Greg King spent eight days helping cook and feed Hurricane Helene victims, first responders and National Guard members. He drove a load of food, toiletries and necessities down in early October to help people impacted by the natural disaster.

”People’s homes that we knew growing up are just gone,” he said. ”I don’t feel like I did much. It’s really a community effort down there. So, just to be able to be part of that community I guess would be the biggest part, right?”
