Bernice Ayer Middle School in San Clemente is embracing its cultural diversity during Hispanic Heritage Month, highlighted by a lively Cultural Fiesta last week celebrating the many backgrounds represented by its student body. Filled with music, food, and educational activities, the event aimed to bring students closer together while fostering understanding and appreciation for one another’s heritage.
Rebecca Wu, a counselor at the school, explained the purpose of the Fiesta. “Our goal for this Fiesta is really to recognize the different cultures we have among our students and give them a chance to share their culture with their peers,” Wu said.
The Fiesta was organized into different regions, highlighting countries including Mexico, El Salvador, Spain, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Belize, Brazil, and Colombia. Each booth offered traditional foods, games, and fact sheets to make the event both fun and educational…
