Laurens City Council approves 173-home residential development

The Laurens City Council recently suspended new approvals for subdivisions and developments for a short period as they work on an updated land use ordinance, expected to be submitted to the council in early November.

During Mayor Nathan Senn’s opening remarks Tuesday evening he said some comments and discussion at the Planning Commission meeting Monday evening were inaccurate.

“I heard we had 1,000 new homes coming in and I’m afraid that’s just not accurate. The plans that have come across our desk are healthy for a city of our size and not all of them will actually take place,” Senn said…
