(WOWK) — Look for an average winter of precipitation with better than normal chances of warmer temperatures according to new forecasts issued Thursday. The latest seasonal forecast for winter comes from the NOAA NWS Climate Prediction Center.
Starting with precipitation, the odds are even for above or below amounts of rain or snow. That means the area should be about normal in terms of precipitation.
The odds are slightly better than average for a warmer than normal winter as well.
However, the recently released forecast from the Old Farmer’s Almanac calls for the WOWK-TV area to be in a cold and snowy setup for the winter.
