Port Authority announces major redevelopment for Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark Liberty International Airport has announced a major overhaul project. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced that major changes are coming, including the expansion of Terminal A and a brand-new Terminal B. Officials say that 49 million people traveled through the airport in 2023 – the highest volume ever. But there is a strain on land and in the air as passengers are met with congested roadways, dated infrastructure and regular delays. “We’re going to unleash the potential, the raw potential that the Port Authority has been building up for 103 years,” says Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole.
