A sixth grader from New Hyde Park is hoping to help lower the number of children killed in house fires. Luke Tamhan is part of a new safety campaign using a song to remind children to get out of a house when they hear a smoke detector go off. Five years ago, a fire broke out at his house. A smoke detector saved his family’s life.
