Musk Offers $100 to Sign Pro-Gun, Free Speech Petition

Additional Coverage:

Elon Musk has increased his financial incentive for registered voters in swing states to sign a conservative petition. His pro-Trump super PAC will now pay $100 to those who sign and those who refer them.

Musk’s offer comes after he promoted a false voter fraud conspiracy theory at a pro-Trump event. The deadline to sign the petition is Monday, the day Pennsylvania voter registration closes.

The petition supports the First and Second Amendments of the Constitution. Musk has launched a similar program in the past, offering payments for signing and referring voters.

While Musk’s program appears to avoid breaking campaign finance laws, he has openly endorsed Trump and donated millions to his super PAC. Musk has also joined Trump at campaign rallies and plans to host more events in Pennsylvania before Election Day.

Musk has used his vast social media following to push controversial and false claims, including on voter fraud. His PAC has also paid for voter registration ads in swing states, but faced scrutiny for potentially misleading voters.
