Jay Cutler Arrested for DUI and Gun Possession

Former NFL player Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday evening in Franklin, Tennessee for driving under the influence (DUI) and three other offenses. Police responded to a car accident involving Cutler, who allegedly rear-ended another vehicle. Officers reported that Cutler was unsteady on his feet, slurring his speech, and had bloodshot eyes.

Refusal of Sobriety Tests and Blood Sample

Cutler refused to take field sobriety tests but agreed to a blood sample at a hospital. The results of the blood test are pending. Officers also discovered a rifle in the backseat and a loaded handgun in the center console of Cutler’s car.

Charges and Release

Cutler was charged with DUI, failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence. He was booked into the Williamson County Jail and released later that night after posting a $5,000 bond. His court date is set for January 2025.

Cutler was married to Kristin Cavallari for nearly a decade before their divorce in 2022. The couple starred in the reality show “Very Cavallari.” Cutler played quarterback for the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins during his NFL career.
