Honor Flight of the Appalachian Highlands completes 10th mission

WASHINGTON (WJHL) — News Channel 11 had the opportunity to tag along with Honor Flight of the Appalachian Highlands’ final mission of the year.

The group takes veterans to the memorials for all of the branches of service and the different wars.

“Sometimes you look at it and it just hurts… knowing what the guys suffered,” said Korean War Army Veteran Ray Lawson at the respective memorial. “I’ve seen these sufferings go on sometimes. And it just hurts to see it, what they went through for our freedom back here.”
