The Frenship Tigers (5-1,1-0) defeat the Midland Legacy Rebels 51-48.
The Tigers offense got off to a hot start scoring three first quarter Touchdowns. However, Midland Legacy was able to score two Touchdowns of their own making the score 21-14 going into the second quarter. After the Tigers Defense forced two first half Turnover on Downs the offense was able to capitalize scoring 14 points off of those turnovers. The Midland Rebels were able to block a field goal attempt late in the second quarter. The Rebels capitalized on the blocked field goal by scoring a touchdown with under a minute left in the first half. The score was 28-21 going into the halftime break.
The Tigers first drive of the second half ended in them finding the endzone. The Rebels were also able to score on their first drive of the second half following a fake punt. The scoring for both teams continued as the 4th quarter began with a 42-35 lead for the Tigers. The 4th quarter started with a Tiger Touchdown, shortly followed by a Rebel touchdown. The Rebels bobbled the snap on the PAT, Frenship was able to scoop and score for a 2-point return making the score 51-41 Tigers. After a late 4th quarter turnover by the Tigers, Midland was able to drive down the field and score a touchdown to make it a 3-point game with a minute to play.
