Precipitation slows Pack Trail Fire; containment now over 60%

CASPER, Wyo. — Firefighters battling the Pack Trail Fire in western Wyoming received some aid from recent rain and snowfall, helping them temper the fire’s activity.

At time of publication, the wildfire spans 89,186 acres and is 62% contained, according to Bureau of Land Management data.

Because of the precipitation, fire activity is minimal in the region, though large dead and downed logs and stumps are likely to continue smoldering within the interior of the fire…
